INOVATIVE PRACTICES IMPLEMENTED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING PROCESS AT KLCE, VADDESWARAM
Innovative practices introduced to improve the quality of education in the Civil Engineering Department at K.L.C.E
Department development Council meetings are conducted for the improvement of the department
ET facilities i.e., OHP, LCD, Cd's, Transparancies Wall Charts etc. are Extensively used.
To improve communication skills the following are implementedsd
1.Seminars are made Compulsory for the students and included in the time table.
2. Soft skill classe are arranged
3. Mock interviews are conducted regularly
LIST OF PUBLICATIONS THE RESEARCH WORK DONE :
  • MOU's are signed with industries
  • Student association activities like quizzes, Guest Lectures, Group discussions, debates etc, are conducted
  • Industrial visits and Tours are arranged for the students
  • For staff and student reference, latest books on latest topics are provided in the department library
  • For the central library more International and national journals are subscribed
  • For the betterment of the students additional topics are covered to the extent of 10% over and above the prescribed syllabus in theory subjects and conducted additional experiments to an extent of 25% over and above the prescribed syllabus in laboratories
  • Gueest lectures from eminent Professors from various organizations a minimum of five lectures perannum are arranged for thebenefit of the students
  • Industrial training is provided for the students, which is over and above the curriculum
    Students are given LESSON PLANS at the beginning of the semester and also are kept on WEB.s
  • Studens can monitor the concered lesson plans and come to the classes with the preparartion of concerned topic HOD monitors the lesson plan periodically an dtake corrective action on the concerned teacher if at all any deviation is there in the lesson plan
  • Faculty are encouraged attend Symposiums /work shops to improve their knowledge with which Students will be benefited
  • Lab techinicians are sent to special training programs to the industries for skill up gradation
    After obtaining the university results effective follow up action is taken for the subjects with less than predetermined performance
  • Students are given GATE coaching classes after the college timmings coaching is provided for GRE /TOEFL by central training cell
