Admission to the Library
Identity card to be produced at the counter when requested.
While entering the Reference Section, users should leave behind personal belonging such as bags, personal books etc. Plain loose papers are however allowed in the Reference Section.
Silence and library etiquettes shall be strictly maintained.
Circulation Hours
VYCET Library follows Open access system. A copy of each title is available in reference section, where it can be seen and checked on computerized catalogue prior to requisition; thereafter a book can be issued against presentation of requisition slip with relevant details at the issue counter.
Each students is entitled to borrow a maximum of three ( 3) books at a time using his/her ID cards and readers ticket
Loss of ID cards or readers tickets is to be informed to the librarian immediately. Duplicate readers tickets are issued to the members on payment of Rs. 50/- each. In case a card lost is not intimated to the librarian, the member is responsible for any loss arising from misuse of the lost library card
ID card is not transferable and it must be carried at all time.
Borrower must satisfy himself/herself about the sound condition of the book before leaving the issue counter. He/she will be responsible for any damage to the book detected at the time of return.
Reference books, journals, magazines and project reports will not be issued to students
Books borrowed may be kept for a period of 15 days at a time
A book returned by any student will not be re-issued on the same day.
In case of damage or loss of book(s) the student will have to replace the book or will pay the cost of book(s) plus a processing charge of 30% of the cost of the book(s).
Books lent out are liable to be recalled, if they are required before the expiry of the due date.
A fine of Rs. @1/- per day per book shall be charged if the book is not returned with in the due date.
If the date of return falls on any holiday/vacation, the fine for the book will not be collected during the period of holidays, but if a student fails to return the book in the subsequent working days then fine will be charged for the working days only.
Unauthorized removal of books / or damaging the property of library / or misbehavior with library staff shall be considered an act of indiscipline, which will call for strict disciplinary action and /or fine.
